The 1 month and 3 months are still available for US citizens but on this post, we will go in details of the Vietnam 1 year visa for US citizens only.
Difference between the 1 year Vietnam business visa and the 1 year Vietnam tourist visa for US citizens
The main point between this 1-year visa for US citizens is in how long the US citizens can actually stay in Vietnam:
The 1 year Vietnam tourist visa required users have to leave the country for every 90 days. It means that you can not stay in Vietnam for more than 90 days in 1 time, and have to leave the country and return for another 90 days stay. In case you can not go, the visa extension service is available for this type of visa.
With 1-year Vietnam business visa, the maximum duration of staying in Vietnam is 1 year without leaving the country.Β Depending on your purpose and plan, you have to think and apply a suitable one to save your time and money.
How to obtain the 1-year Vietnam visa for US citizens
There are two options to get a 1-year multiple entry visa for US citizens to Vietnam, including:
I. Apply for the visa at Vietnam Embassy.
Required documents depend on the Embassy. Also, the fee would varyΒ as each of them has their own regulations. If this option is selected, you are highly recommended to contact the Embassy for details.
II. Getting Vietnam visa on arrival
This way is very efficient for those who live far away from Vietnam Embassy. Also, it does not require document for application.

There are 2 kinds of fees when you apply for a Vietnam visa on arrival: service fee and stamping fee. It cost 40USD for the 1-year tourist visa or 140USD for a 1-year business visa. Also, you have to pay another 135usd for stamping fee on arrival airport.
Processing time: 3 β 4 working days. After this time, we will send you the 1-year invitation letter.
How to use the 1-year invitation letter?
You just need to print out the invitation letter and show it on arrival airport. To save your time at the check-in point at Internationals airport in Vietnam, you can fill the Vietnam entry and exit form in advance. Submit this form, original passport, the 1 year invitation letter, passport photos, 135USD in cash for stamping fee to officers at “Landing visa office” in Vietnam airport, they will check and put the visa sticker into your passport.
